TEACHING
At the Nazareth University School of Music (Rochester, NY), Dr. Ertl is the Coordinator of Keyboard Studies, Associate Professor of Piano, and Performance Program Director for the BM in Performance and MM in Performance and Pedagogy degrees. He maintains a successful international piano studio of undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Ertl is also a Visiting Professor of Piano at Shandong Normal University (Jinan, China), where he spends one month as artist-in-residence each year.

Piano students of Dr. Ertl have been accepted into top graduate programs (many with full-tuition scholarships and assistantships) at the Eastman School of Music, Hoschule für Musik Freiburg, UMKC Conservatory of Music, University of South Carolina, Ohio University, University of Oklahoma, Baylor University, Westminster Choir College, Utah State University, Louisiana State University, among others.

Students have also been winners in the School of Music concerto competition, Hobstetter Piano Award competitions, presented at MTNA state and national conferences, and have been accepted into prestigious international summer festivals, including: Gijon International Piano Festival, Amalfi Coast Music Festival, Atlantic Music Festival, Vivace International Piano Festival, among others.
